Einformation – FORMER ADEL HAND CAR WASH, 503 OTLEY ROAD

Please see below information regarding the above received from Cllr Barry Anderson, which may be of interest to you.

A number of residents have been asking me where the Adel Hand Car Wash has gone and one or two other questions about what is actually replacing it. The answer to the latter is that it will be a BP service station with a Marks & Spencer food outlet and it is my understanding this will be completed by early December.

In respect of the first question it hasn’t gone far, they have now re-named and re-located to:

Park Hand Car Wash, Texaco Petrol station West Park Ring Road, Horsforth, LS16 6EB. (opposite McDonalds)

I know some of you were worried that some of the workers may have lost their jobs but I am advised that no jobs were lost in the move. The same team from Adel will be cleaning vehicles at the new location. I am also advised that until the 30th September 2017 all vehicle cleaning services have been discounted.

NW Leeds Bus Consultation

North West Leeds Consultation Summary

Please see the below update received from First UK Bus via Cllr Barry Anderson;

Dear Stakeholder

Further to our earlier emails, I’d like to update you on the consultation on First bus services in NW Leeds that operate through Headingley.

In March we commenced the first phase of the consultation and collected over 1,000 responses from both on-line and drop-in sessions. Based on this feedback and our own data & research, we then presented a number of options through further consultation events and an on-line survey. All this information has now been considered and a set of changes has been developed that is now being registered this week for implementation from 22 October.

A summary of those changes is listed below with further detail in the attached document,

  • One journey per hour on service X84 will now run via Pool Monday to Saturday from c0700 to c1900 & a new evening timetable will operate with a new late journey from Leeds to Otley
  • Route 97 will retain its current route and will run every 20 minutes during the majority of the day, a new timetable has been designed to improve reliability
  • Service 19A will now extend from Tinshill to Yeadon via Trinity University and Rawdon. This will give new links to Rawdon Village and also improve links between Trinity and their students’ accommodation
  • Services 1, 6 and 28 will also receive new timetables to improve reliability
  • Changes will be made to driver duties to reduce cancellations, especially in the early evening
  • Service 29 will be revised to run every 30 minutes with an hourly evening service.

We will share the changes with those who took part in the consultation next week in advance of wider communication.

If we can provide any further information on this please don’t hesitate to contact Paul Turner (copied in) or myself.

Weekly crime update [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

Please see the below crime update for Adel and Wharfedale Ward from PC Karina Ingham;

In the past 7 days there have been the following crimes committed in the Adel and Wharfedale ward;

There was a theft from a vehicle at a commercial premise on Otley Road, Adel where a vehicle has all four alloy wheels removed. This is quite unusual on modern cars due to locking wheel nuts. All enquiries have been made at the location.

There was a burglary between the 12th-15th August at an address on Kings Road, Bramhope. A window was forced open and entry gained. It is not know at this time if anything was stolen.

A suspicious type incident occurred on Dale Park Rise, Cookridge at around 1745 hours 16th August  where the homeowner disturbed a male looking through her window, it is believed they were looking for the keys to the vehicle parked on the drive. The male ran and got in to a stolen vehicle with other occupants. The vehicle made off and was later involved in an incident in North Yorkshire.

Please continue to think about home security, lock doors and cars and don’t give these people opportunity to take things you have worked hard for!

Many thanks,

Karina

WEEKLY CRIME UPDATE [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

Please see the below crime update for Adel and Wharfedale Ward from PC Karina Ingham;

In the past seven days the majority of crime types has been very low across the ward, however, there have been a number of burglary offences.

Between the 27-29th July a garden shed was broken in to on Green Lane, Cookridge and a BBQ was stolen.

Between the 28-29th July a property under renovation on Farrar Lane, Adel had a window smashed, it is believed the people involved were trying to gain entry to the property.

At around 4am on the 28th July a home owner was awoken on Oaklands Close, Adel after suspects gained entry in to his home by snapping the lock of his external door. They made off on being disturbed.

On the 27th July, during the day, a suspect smashed a rear patio door on Willow Court, Pool and entered an address, they stole items of jewellery.

Between the 25-27th July a quantity of Yorkshire stone slabs were stolen from the pavement at Long Causeway, Adel.

Although the lock funding money for the ward has now been spent, please consider upgrading your locks to current British standard snap proof locks.

Following vehicle crime initiatives in our local car parks, which will continue throughout August, vehicle crime has fallen. Please remember not to leave valuables and handbags in cars as you never know who is watching!
