We are currently investigating the possibility of finding some outdoor space for community use. This could perhaps include landscape gardens and a plot for low maintenance organic produce. We would like to encourage young people and local schools to get involved. If you would be interested in getting involved please let us know.

Abigail Buckle, the Association’s Youth Representative, has proposed a children’s disco for 11- 14 year olds, to be held on a Friday evening. We are arranging meetings with various agencies to see if this is feasible. If your child living in the locality would like to attend, or you would like to be involved please let us know.

Due to time changes 29th August on the buses we have been advised following a decision made by Metro, Centre Bus now operate some of the early morning and evening journeys on the number 28 route. This will not impact on those with Metro passes i.e. senior citizens. However, for those who pay, customers can take advantage of the Metro Day Rover ticket priced at £5 which can be used on any West Yorkshire operating bus.

For reference, their maximum peak single fare is £2.50 and the off-peak ticket is £2.20.
Peak times are 0600-0930 and 1500-1800 (Mon-Fri) and off-peak times are any outside the peak times.

Further to the community spring newsletter in relation to the survey sent out to all residents in the vicinity of the proposed area Marie Dupont, Neighbourhood Planning Officer, WNWhL wishes to thank all those who kindly participated in taking their valued time completing their returned questionnaire. Unfortunately, due to the response from residents it is felt that given the larger proportion of negative response they have received from the residents surveyed they cannot continue to support the proposed Adel Wood Community Garden in its current location.

Our clean up event at The Spinney in Adel Woods during the month of July was a great success. It was hard work but everyone enjoyed it and would like to do it again. Thanks everyone for their efforts.

We were delighted that a number of residents from Holt Park area joined in and another from Adel Wood Gardens supplied some refreshments for the thirsty hoards.
