Meet Your Local School Crossing Patrol Warden

Francis Garbutt, Chair of Adel Crag Community Association today had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl our Community Patrol Warden on Sir George Martin Drive at Adel Primary School.

Cheryl only started last week and already she has made an impact in our community. It is nice to see the parents and the children stood patiently with a smile on their faces waiting to cross the road in safety.

Cheryl stands at the junction of Woodstock Close and Sir George Martin Drive during school periods from 8.15 am to 9.05 am and 2.45 pm to 3.30 pm.

So whether you are walking your children to and from school or just going down to the local shop for a newspaper etc please just take a minute of your time and say hello to Cheryl and she would be more than happy to talk back to you.

We have been informed to help matters on road safety there are to be new signs in place in due course.

Please bring this information to the attention of your friends and neighbours who may not have access to the internet.

School Crossing Patrol – Sir George Martin Drive

Please see below recently published in the Adel Bells Church Magazine by Cllr Barry Anderson which may be of interest to you.

I am pleased to report that following successful interviews an applicant has been offered the position of School Crossing Patrol Warden on Sir George Martin Drive. The Council Officer responsible has advised that they hope to have the Warden in place at Adel by the end of February.

Please share this news with your friends on Facebook and help keep everyone in the local area informed of what is happening in our community.

Missed Refuse Collection Update

Further to our previous post please see below received today from Cllr Barry Anderson.

Please accept my apologies but we have not been able to recover all the missed waste in the Adel Wood area. We have had numerous vehicle related issues which has prevented us completing all recovery collections.

We have made arrangements for this waste to be recovered first thing in the morning (Friday).

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused. We will instruct the crews to recover all presented waste and all non presented waste as we are aware that some residents will have taken their bins back in to their properties.

Many thanks

Ben
