Doggy Doo’s

Message from some responsible dog owners who always clean up after their dogs.  They drop the bag in either one of the special bins provided by our benevolent Council, or bring it home and put it in the dustbin. Just recently, they have started to notice more and more dog dirt on the pavement and grass verges. You hardly ever see dogs roaming free these days, so presumably the owner has just let the dog foul the pavement and then deliberately done nothing about it.

Nearly as bad are the people who scoop up the dirt but then throw the bag into a hedge bottom. If it’s beneath their dignity to walk to a bin with a bag of dog doo’s then they shouldn’t have a dog in the first place.

Although it has been recognised that many dog owners are complying with the regulations we wish to thank them for having consideration for others by placing the dog “pooh” in a doggy bag and into the bins provided or taking it home to dispose of.

Dog owners who do not clean up after dogs can be fined up to £1,000.  Thank you for helping to keep our area clean.

CASAC – Free Security Assessment for Local Residents

At a recent Adel Association meeting Inspector Coldwell, our local Neighbourhood Policing Team brought some information about CASAC, and asked that it be brought to the attention of local residents throughout the area.

CASAC are dedicated to improving community safety and offer residents a FREE security assessment and a free quotation to anyone in the West Yorkshire area. They have worked alongside West Yorkshire Police for 10 years and have secured over 55,000 properties in that time. Less than 0.01% of these properties have been victim of a repeat burglary, where access has been gained through security products fitted by CASAC.

For a free assessment call 0845 519 2122.  All operatives carry a police ID card, and all profits go to charity. Cllr Barry Anderson and his colleagues have provided £15,000 from their funds to help the police to work with CASAC.

Please see statement received from CASAC and their website: http://www.casac.org.uk/  for further details.

Please share this information with your friends on Facebook to let them know what is available to secure their homes.
