Parking Issues & Problems within the Estates: Please Don’t Block Thy Neighbours Parking

Many local residents have asked us to raise the matter of car users parking inconsiderately during snow and icy conditions in our area.  It was noted that many cars were found abandoned and the owners made no attempt to clear the snow having no thought or consideration for others.  However, it is felt that a big “thank you” should go out to the majority who did help to clear the snow has given a sense of real community spirit.

We realise it is difficult at times but it would help if you could park away from bends and narrows roads and where possible use the off street parking cobbled parking bays in case the emergency services need to gain access to one of the streets.  So please have some thought for your family and neighbours and keep our village safe.  THANK YOU!

A Big Thank You Goes Out to Bus Drivers On the 28 Adel Service

We would like to make a special commendation to the bus drivers on the 28 Adel Bus service for their hard efforts ensuring the service continued to run during the heavy snow fall and icy road conditions last Wednesday especially early part of the day where some of the roads were not treated until later in the day such as Long Causeway where driving proved to be dreadful at times.

So we wish to give a ‘Big Thank You’ to all the drivers concerned for ensuring that service users living in our local village were able to get to work, appointments, shopping and safely returning them home.

This has been passed onto First Bus for them to cascade to all drivers concerned for their hard efforts and patience during the poor weather conditions.

Environmental Issues In Adel Woods and Waylands Estate

You may recall the Adel Crag Residents group met with Cllr Anderson in September with regard to the grass cutting and the shrubs and shrub beds issues that need to be maintained on the Adel Wood Estate and Wayland Estate. Due to a number of telephone calls received from local residents that there has been no improvements to the shrubs and shrub beds we took this up with Cllr Barry Anderson and are pleased to report he has assured us that he will continue to keep the pressure up with the agencies concerned in trying to get the matter resolved as soon as possible.
