Neighbourhood Police Update W/c 7th March

Crime
Excellent news with no reported burglary or vehicle crime in the last week. On the 9th PCSO 47 King worked with CASAC completing a leaflet drop on Dunstarn Lane, Drive and Gardens advising householders of current funding that is available. This has worked well in other areas and we are hoping for a positive uptake of the funding. Any extra measures that can be taken are well worthwhile. He also dropped in a leaflet to an occupant on New Adel Lane who very kindly offered to continue the good work and pass leaflets onto local residents. We very much appreciate the help in keeping the neighbourhood safe.

ASB
On the 8th PCSO King patrolled the Mulberrys, Waylands, Church Lane, Holt Close, The Drive and Farrar Lane.but there have been no issues reported. Bedquilts and Tile Lane continue to be patrolled but both very quiet. On the 12th PCSO King dealt with an ongoing ASB issue at Adel Wood Grove where he spoke with 1 of the youths involved who admitted he had been part of the group. PCSO King returned again on the 13th to deal with some ASB issues on the playing fields on The Causeway.

SID  has been deployed to Otley Old Road on the 8th but only 2 vehicles
were seen speeding.

Arrests of note
3 males, a 32 year old from Potternewton, a 22 year old male from Beeston and a 14 year old from Harehills  have been arrested for a burglary that occurred at the beginning of March on St Helens Close, further enquiries continue.

All Areas
The NW Leeds Crime Prevention panel would like to pass on the below crime
prevention tool. A window shock alarm which is designed to go off if
attacked, thereby preventing someone getting in by the alarm sounding.
Although they are only £4.50 they are effective and seem to work well as
a deterrent as they can be seen from outside if put on a window or glass
door panel. If you are interested please contact David Lawson of the Crime
Prevention Panel on D Lawson <lawson_d1@sky.com>, below is an example.
