Burglary: There has been one reported burglary in Arthington. This occurred on Warren Lane, entry was gained to the property by snapping the lock from the rear UPVC door with a mole grip type implement. Car keys were located inside the property and a vehicle was subsequently stolen but later recovered in Woodhouse. Enquiries are still ongoing.
We have had a report of damage to vehicle that occurred on Warren Lane, Arthington; the vehicle windscreen wipers were damaged.
A further vehicle was damaged in the car park of the Ramada hotel, Bramhope. The rear windscreen of this vehicle was smashed, but no property was stolen.
A 21 year old male was observed driving at speed and overtaking numerous vehicles on Otley Road, Bramhope on/01/12. This male was therefore given a section 59 warning and a fixed penalty notice for excessive speed and not using his seat belt.
PCSO Reardon and PCSO Doyle made visits to the local farms in Bramhope this week. Informing them of the Farm Watch scheme and giving security advice when necessary. If anybody would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact them.
Please remember to keep your vehicle keys out of sight. Offenders target properties which have hi spec vehicles parked outside. If your keys are easy pickings, it makes the job even easier for them instead of them finding nothing and leaving empty-handed.
The UPVC door locks are extremely simple to break in through and can be done within seconds. We highly recommend the security company CASAC who we work closely with. They offer free security assessments and can advise you on the anti snapping locks, which we also highly recommend.

To combat this Otley Neighbourhood Policing, in partnership with the Pudsey and Weetwood Anti Crime Partnerships, are offering to change the standard screws used to hold the plate onto the car with security screws. This process takes approximately 10 minutes of your time but will help to protect you and your vehicle from becoming a target.
