Neighbourhood Police Update W/c 21st May 2012

Officers along with the Leeds City Council CCTV van have been out and about in all areas to deter crime and ASB.

Warm Weather
The Force has launched a campaign, which will run from the end of March to the end of September, to encourage everyone to think about their home security, as well as advising the public to ‘lock up or lose out’. The campaign is titled ‘It Only Takes a Minute’ as it only takes a minute to lock your doors and windows but it is also the same amount of time that it could take a burglar to enter your house and steal your belongings. Please remember to keep doors and windows locked when in the garden having BBQs, gardening, hanging out the washing, etc. For information, please visit

Burglary Prevention Toolkit
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are working in all areas, assisting residents with Home Security and using Burglary Prevention Toolkits to help prevent people from becoming the victim of crime.

Free Security Assessment
Available from registered Charity / Security experts, CASAC. CASAC Burglary Reduction work closely with West Yorkshire Police to ensure that their fully qualified Safety Engineers are best placed to identify vulnerable doors and windows. The engineer will produce a no obligation quote for any security improvements and can install them if needed. Telephone 0113 239 2821.
