OPAL News

LS16 Community Choir
A small group of us from OPAL met to enjoy singing together during last term at Cookridge Primary with the school choir on Tuesday lunchtimes and/or Thursday after school. We sang as a Community Choir at the Cookridge Methodist Christmas Tree Festival. The Community Choir will continue during 2013—contact Anne at OPAL for more details if you would like to join us. 150 OPAL members enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Banquet at Ralph Thoresby School with music by pupils plus singing and dancing!

We were very pleased to be invited to the excellent Christmas productions at Ireland Wood and Cookridge Primary Schools. We also enjoyed Christmas Lunch at Lawnswood School with steel drums, singing and a short play, plus a fun quiz after lunch. The students and Father Christmas (the PE teacher) looked after us well. Many thanks to all the schools involved. We now look forward to a Tea Party at Leeds University Union for an afternoon of entertainment by the students on Wednesday 13th March, noon-3pm.
