Missed Black/Green Wheelie Bin Colletion Update

We wish to confirm that Adel Crag Association passed on your complaints to Cllr Anderson about another missed black/green wheelie bin collection today (Tuesday 4th).

Please see the response below received from Cllr Anderson:

“The instructions I have been sent recently would indicate that the bins should be left out for 48hrs and then taken in if not collected. However, I have forwarded on your request to officers to get further clarification.”

As soon as this is made available we will let you know.

Thanks

Local People and Friends help the Residents to Clear the Snow on Wayland Croft Estate

A sense of real community spirit happened recently on the Wayland Croft Estate (sheltered housing complex).  Many local residents and friends worked extremely hard to clear the snow away to help the infirm and elderly to get out and about to the local shop.  A resident who lives in Adel Wood Gardens also went over to Wayland Croft to offer his services and worked extremely hard.

Also some local residents were seen clearing the snow away for an ambulance driver to access a patient nearby.

It was noted that some areas may have done better had the gritters and snow plough assisted to ease the situation where there is a sheltered housing complex situated on a hill.

So a big “thank you” to all those who participated clearing the snow away which is something to be proud of in times like this which again has given a sense of real community spirit.

This information has been forwarded to Cllr Barry Anderson for his attention.

Please share this news with your friends on Facebook and help keep everyone in the local area informed of what is happening in our community.

Adel Crag Association Gets A Big Thank You

West North West Homes Leeds says a big “thank you” to all our inspirational community stars.

We were delighted to hold our first Community Stars awards ceremony at Leeds Civic Hall on 19 October 2010.  The event, attended by over 170 guests, was organised to say ‘thank-you’ to all the tenants, residents and community groups whose actions and initiatives have made a real difference to their communities.

Each Community Star Award winner was presented with a trophy, certificate and gift vouchers.  Chief Executive of West and North West Leeds, Claire Warren, said “This evening is about recognising the unsung heroes who live and work in the communities and valuing the contributions they make, however small, towards making West North West homes Leeds a better place to live.  Although the Judging Panel has had to choose finalists and one overall winner in each category it is clear to me that every single nominee is a “community star” and deserves a big thank you from all of us.”
