Waste Collection Services Update

Black Wheelie BinFurther to previous post we received this today from Leeds City Council with regard to the delays due to weather.

The service is operating as normal from both depots.

There are now around 95 hours of kerbside recycling collections out of a possible 300 operational hours to recover.

For residual (black bin) waste that has been uncollected due to winter weather, the message to residents has been to return the bins to their property and put out for the next scheduled collection. The service will ensure all black bin waste (including reasonable levels of side waste) is collected next week.

Kind regards.

Refuse Collection Service disruption due to Weather Conditions

Black Wheelie BinWe received this yesterday from Leeds City Council in respect of refuse collection service for information.

Be advised that due to the snow fall overnight there will be disruption to waste collection services today.

All routes covered by Henshaw Depot (mainly in the North of the city) have been suspended. The service has attempted to operate a limited number of routes out of Cross Green, however this has been restricted to those main roads where is has been safe to travel.

In these circumstances, the message to residents is to return black bins to their property and put out for the next scheduled collection. The service will look to recover recycling collections where possible but this could take up to 7 days dependent on the weather conditions.

Where crews are out collecting, as you would expect, they are instructed to be aware of the local conditions and not put themselves, the public or other road users at risk of accident / injury.

Please bring this information to the attention of your friends and neighbours who may not have access to the internet.

We will keep you updated.
