Weekly crime update [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

See latest weekly crime update for Adel and Wharfedale ward below.

On the 12th December a minibus was entered whilst parked at Golden Acre Car Park, Adel, and items were stolen. If you are visiting the car park over Christmas and New Year please do not leave valuables in the car and keep an eye out for anyone looking around cars.

During the day of the 14th December there was a burglary on Wrenbury Crescent, Cookridge where a rear window of the house was smashed and entry gained. Jewellery and cosmetics were stolen. This offence is being investigated with a potential line of enquiry through a member of the public. Remember if it doesn’t look right it probably isn’t!

At around 4pm on the 14th December there was a burglary at Adel Grange Close, Adel where the suspects climbed a drainpipe and entered through a window. They stole jewellery and other items before making off.

In the early hours of the 15th December a man was arrested on Otley Road, Adel on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit, he has been charged with this offence. Please do not drink and drive!!

On a separate note, as Ward Manager I have received numerous complaints, both directly and from our Ward Councillors, about the parking on Green Lane, outside the School and Tesco. Whilst I appreciate parking is limited here, it is dangerous and inconsiderate to park on pavements, yellow lines, zebra crossing approaches and bus stops. As a result six fixed penalty notices have been issued in the last week for these offences. This matter has created strong local feeling, evident from the emails I have received, therefore we will continue to enforce the parking restrictions that are in place.
