Neighbourhood Police Update W/c 25th May & 4th June 2012

Prevention on a Plate
Prevention on a Plate Initiatives led by North West Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be held on, Saturday 30th June at Stephen Smiths Garden Centre, Pool Road from 0930 until 1600 Sunday 1st July at Stephen Smiths Garden Centre, Pool Road from 1000 until 1500.

Members of the public can come along and get their old vehicle number plate fixing screws changed by Officers from the NPT for security ‘anti-theft’ screws, free of charge.

Telephone Scam
Reports have been made to Police regarding a male who is trying to target customers who have previously purchased items from a number of Florists within the Leeds Area. Do not disclose any personal details or bank card information to cold callers. Wrap Up Leeds Scheme
Leeds City Council are currently working with Yorkshire Energy Service to roll out the Wrap Up Leeds Scheme which is offering free loft insulation and/or cavity wall insulation to any property in Leeds which qualifies for a government grant.   Continue reading

Day Trip to Blackpool Saturday 30th June 2012

Adel Crag Association are pleased to announce the trip to Blackpool has proved popular.  If anyone is still interested in joining us are advised to do so now to avoid any disappointment.  The coach leaves outside Adel Wood Stores at 9.00am and to return at 6.00pm.

Discover a whole host of exciting new attractions and things to do in Blackpool 2012.

You do not have to come alone as you can bring a friend, grandparents can bring their grandchildren and children can bring their Parent(s) or guardian.

On arrival, you will be able to do what you want to do at your own pace.  Please note an adult MUST accompany all children under the age of 16.  There will be a requirement of £10 per adult, £2.50 per child over 5 and all children under 5 go free.   Continue reading

Missed Green Bin/Bag Collection

The Waste Management Team, Leeds City Council have informed us that the reason for the missed collection yesterday on the Adel Woods, Wayland Approach and Wayland Croft Estates, that the route in question was 1.5 hours down due to a vehicle breakdown and staffing issues.

They are planning to make a recovery collection today or tomorrow at the very latest.

Neighbourhood Police Update W/c 21st May 2012

Officers along with the Leeds City Council CCTV van have been out and about in all areas to deter crime and ASB.

Warm Weather
The Force has launched a campaign, which will run from the end of March to the end of September, to encourage everyone to think about their home security, as well as advising the public to ‘lock up or lose out’. The campaign is titled ‘It Only Takes a Minute’ as it only takes a minute to lock your doors and windows but it is also the same amount of time that it could take a burglar to enter your house and steal your belongings. Burglary Prevention Toolkit
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are working in all areas, assisting residents with Home Security and using Burglary Prevention Toolkits to help prevent people from becoming the victim of crime.  Continue reading
