Weekly crime update [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

Please see below for the past seven days crime in Adel and Wharfedale ward received from PC Karina Ingham;

On the 25th November a vehicle had a window smashed on Otley Road, Adel and a bag was stolen, containing a baby changing mat.

At around 8.30pm 24th November a male wearing a balaclava entered an address on Holtdale Place through an unlocked door. He removed car keys from the worktop and then made off in the homeowners car.

Between the 23-24th November two car batteries were taken from unused cars parked on Station Road, Arthington.

Between the 21-23rd November a quantity of beauty products were taken from a vehicle parked on Rowan Avenue, Adel.

In the early hours of the 22nd November suspects approached a house on Green Lane, Cookridge and tried to hook a set of car keys from within the property that had been left near the door. This alerted the homeowner and the suspects made off without the keys.

On the 21st November suspects attempted to snap the door lock of a house on Moseley Wood Gardens, Cookridge. The door locks remained secure despite the lock snapping and no entry was gained to the home.

During the daytime of the 21st November a suspect approached property on Old Lane, Bramhope and forced entry to the house through a door panel. An iPad was stolen.

Between the 10-20th November a blue badge was stolen from a vehicle on Moseley Wood Avenue, Cookridge.

In the outer north west area of Leeds we have had two Audi S3 vehicles stolen this week, one has since been recovered. Burglars target homes for vehicle keys, it is worth considering a steering wheel or hand brake lock if you have a high value or performance vehicle and to keep keys out of sight.

Please see below for the past seven days crime in Adel and Wharfedale Ward received from PC Karina Ingham;

Between the 10-13th November a burglary occurred at Holt Lane, Adel where a patio door was forced off its hinges. Once inside a small amount of cash was stolen.

At around 1715 hours on the 14th November a suspect attempted to force a widow on a property at Dale Park Walk, Cookridge. They were disturbed by the homeowner and made off, enquiries are still being made in relation to this attempt burglary.

Between the 10-16th November an attempt burglary occurred at a property on Cookridge Lane, Cookridge. The suspect attempted to force a window but due to additional internal locks it could not be opened.

Between the 17-18th November a burglary occurred at a Farm on Kings Road, Bramhope and commercial power tools were stolen.

On a slightly sadder note, on Friday 17th November a dog has attacked seven sheep on land off Long Causeway, Adel. As a result three have died and four have been badly injured. If anyone has information about this crime or would like to come forward as the dog owner responsible please call 101 and quote reference 13170539613.

Please see below for the past seven days crime in Adel and Wharfedale Ward received from PC Karina Ingham;

There was a burglary at Holtdale Way, Holt Park where a resident found an Eastern European male in her kitchen, he had entered through an unlocked door. She challenged the male and he attempted to steal a mobile phone. The lady managed to pull her phone from the male and he made off. A name has been put forward for this suspect and this is being investigated. Please lock doors behind you as this man may still be in the area.

There was a burglary at East Causeway Vale, Adel on the 12th October, the suspects smashed a patio door and located keys for a performance vehicle inside the address. The vehicle was stolen but has now been located and recovered by Police in Bradford. This is under investigation.

There was a theft of metal from a garden on Moseley Wood Walk, Cookridge, a vehicle registration was obtained and this is being investigated.

There was a theft from a motor vehicle on the 12th October on Otley Road, Bramhope. The suspects forced a door lock to the car and stole a pedal cycle and a tomtom.

There was a burglary on Moseley Wood Green, Cookridge overnight 13-14th October where the suspects snapped the lock of a residential property and gained entry.

There was a burglary to an outbuilding on the 10th October on Otley Road, Adel.

There was an attempt burglary at a commercial premise on The Crescent, Adel between the 7-10th October, the lock was damaged but no entry gained.

There was a vehicle interference on Holtdale Garth between 7-8th October where a sliding door of a van was tampered with, no entry was gained.

There was a theft from motor vehicle on Farrar Lane between 7-8th October where a van window was smashed and tools were stolen.

There were two burglaries to business premises in Cookridge on the 8th October, Police attended an alarm activation at one and detained a suspect. He has been arrested and charged with several burglary offences and will be in Court later this month.

The Police Community Support Officers were out this week conducting crime reduction leaflet drops around the Ward, as the nights get darker please be aware of home security, lock doors and windows. There is traditionally an increase in crime in the run up to Christmas and our crime reduction officer is available to give any advice that anyone may need.

MAP SCAM [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

Please see below an alert for all to send out received today from PC Karina Ingham;

MAP SCAM – BEWARE!
On the 3rd October a resident attended at Bramhope Medical Centre in their vehicle. Before they got out of the car they were approached by a male who distracted them with a large paper map and spoke with broken English, asking for directions. Whilst the resident was distracted by this male her handbag was taken from the vehicle.

This distraction was used before in our area in Cookridge, residents were followed home from supermarkets after being watched using their chip and pin cards. Handbags were then stolen and the bank cards were used by the suspects who had seen the pin numbers whilst in the shop.

Please be vigilant and if approached do not speak to the person and lock your car door and protect your possessions.

Please report any incident to the Police on 101 or if an ongoing crime via 999.

Weekly Ward Crime update [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]

Please see below for the past seven days crime in Adel and Wharfedale Ward received from PC Karina Ingham;

On the 30th September a stone bird bath was stolen from a property on Holt Park Road, Holt Park.

On the 1st October a vehicle was seized on Holtdale Gardens whilst being driven with no insurance, the driver has been reported for this offence.

On the 1st October there was a theft of two coping stones on Kings Road, Bramhope.

On the 3rd October Police Officers attended an address on Holtdale Croft and found cannabis plants being grown in the address. A man has been reported for the offence and will be summonsed to appear at Court in the near future.

On the 3rd October there was a theft from a vehicle at Bramhope Medical centre. A lady was approached, whilst in her vehicle, by a man with broken English, asking for directions and thrusting a paper map at her. Whilst distracted by this man her handbag was taken from the car. This distraction was used earlier this year in the Cookridge area.

At around 0200 hours 5th October there was an attempt burglary at a commercial business in Holt Park. They attempted to jemmy doors but no entry was gained.

On the 5th October an insecure vehicle was entered in ASDA car park, Holt Park and some keys and cash were taken.

On the 6th October there was a burglary at a commercial business in Holt Park where a door was forced to the property and a quantity of alcohol was taken.

On the 6th October, during the afternoon, there was a burglary at Sandy Lobby, Pool where a glass door was smashed and entry gained to the property.

On the 6th October in the afternoon, there was a burglary on Old Pool Bank where a door was forced to the address. Once inside jewellery and phones were stolen.

On the 7th October two phones were stolen from changing rooms at Adel Memorial whilst a sporting event was on going.

At around 0800 hours 8TH October there was a burglary at a commercial premise in Cookridge, Police Officers attended and made an arrest at the scene. A person in custody and enquiries are now underway.

On the afternoon of the 11th September a vehicle was broken in to at Golden Acre car park and a handbag was stolen from inside.

Between the 10th and 13th September there was an attempt burglary at Adel Lane. The suspects approached a rear patio door and snapped the euro profile lock, internal locks prevented any further entry. They then tried to force a window open which activated the alarm and the suspects made off.

Overnight 12th-13th a burglary occurred at Cookridge Avenue where the suspects forced open a garage door. It is not believed anything was stolen from the garage.

At around 2350 hours 14th September a resident of The Beeches, Pool disturbed suspects breaking in to their garage, the suspects made off.

Overnight 14th-15th September there was a theft from a motor vehicle on Holt Avenue, Adel where the suspect smashed a window and stole a bag and its contents.

Overnight 14th-15Th September a burglary occurred to a garage at Arthington Lane, Pool where the suspects also broke in to the complainants vehicle.

Please see the below for the past seven days crime in Adel and Wharfedale Ward from PC Karina Ingham;

On the 3rd September there was a theft of a handbag from a vehicle at Golden Acre Park. The suspect removed a quarter light window from the vehicle and then was able to remove the handbag.

In the early hours of the 5th September there was a burglary on Cookridge Drive, Cookridge where the suspect entered the address via an unlocked door. They removed a wallet from the address and the complainant was awoken by their dog barking. The wallet was later found emptied of valuables on Otley Old Road.

Between the 2-4th September a garage was broken in to on Back Church Lane, Adel and a large lawn mower and other gardening equipment was stolen.

Between the 2-3rd September, overnight, a garage was broken in to on Holt Park Crescent, Adel, a search was made of the garage but nothing taken.

Between the 6-7th September a there was a burglary at Manor Crescent, Pool, where the suspects snapped a euro profile lock and gained entry to the house before taking two sets of car keys. They drove away in two vehicles, abandoning one a short distance away.

Hopefully some more funding may be available soon to continue to replacement euro profile lock offer to residents which has been very well received. As the nights start to get darker please think about home security, lock doors and keep valuables safe.

Also this week, a man was arrested in the early hours of this morning after a collision on New Pool Bank, for driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
